Divine Mixing - Vocal Chains SR Help

Frequently Asked Questions

+ I updated StudioRack from Waves Central and now there is no Load button on the StudioRack interface. How do I load the presets?
The Load button has been relocated in the preset menu for StudioRack V12 and higher. Click the orange preset name to open the preset menu and select Load.
+ Why do my vocals sound distorted / too loud when processing with Vocal Chains SR?
All Divine Mixing – Vocal Chains presets are designed to optimally process vocal signals at -25 LUFS (short term). This ensures the dynamics processing and levels are consistent across presets. You can adjust the gain of your vocal track in your DAW (clip / region gain) OR simply reduce the gain using the INPUT GAIN control on the StudioRack interface. See the installation videos for details.
+ Are Vocal Chains SR presets compatible with the older (v9 legacy) version of StudioRack?
No. The Vocal Chains SR presets utilize new features in the latest version of StudioRack (V11 and higher) and cannot be loaded with older versions. You can update your Waves plugins to the latest version using Waves Central.
+ Is Waves Tune Real-Time required to use Vocal Chains SR?
To utilize pitch correction included in many of the presets, yes, although it is not required. You can simply disable the instance of Waves Tune Real-Time and utilize the rest of the vocal chain processing.
+ Why do I have to use a stereo version of plugins on a stereo audio track or aux? Aren't vocals recorded in mono anyway?
The presets in Vocal Chains SR contain effects such as stereo reverbs, stereo delays, stereo doubling and other stereo enhancing effects that must be routed through a stereo output. You can still utilize a mono vocal recording routed to a stereo effect plugin or aux without issues.
+ There is a noticable delay while recording with the vocal chains. What do I need to adjust?
Ensure you have set your DAW Audio I/O buffer settings to 512 samples or less (256 is recommended). Also, activate “low latency mode” or delay compensation in your respective DAW.
+ The pitch correction setting doesn't sound right / isn't in the correct key. How do I fix this?
You must identify the key of the song you’re performing to and set accordingly in Waves Tune Real-Time. For more information on how to make this adjustment, see this video.
+ I have installed the required plugins. Why are they showing Disabled in Studio Rack?
Make sure that all Waves plugins have been scanned and validated for use in your DAW. You may need to rescan all Waves plugins for them to show up in StudioRack.

If individual Waves plugins are loading but are showing “disabled” in Studio Rack: follow these steps to rescan the StudioRack module and plugins.

+ I'm hearing duplicate vocal signals with record enabled for the vocal chains. Why can't I only hear the wet signal?
Check to make sure you are ONLY monitoring the input from the DAW (software monitoring). Any external monitoring from your audio interface should be disabled.
+ Why am I not able to see the internal sidechain option on my Waves plugins?
The internal sidechaining (“ducking”) feature is currently available only in the following DAWs: Logic Pro, Cubase, Pro Tools, Nuendo, Cakewalk by BandLab, Audition, Ableton Live, REAPER, Bitwig Studio and Studio One. Please see this page for full compatibility: Supported Hosts
+ Why are Channel Strip Settings (.cst) / Track Presets (.trackpreset) formats not included with Vocal Chains SR, as they are in Vocal Chains V2 + V3?
Vocal Chains SR presets were specifically designed to utilize the powerful features and capabilities exclusive to StudioRack. StudioRack allows you to recall complete vocal chains, all macros and internal routings (parallel processing) consistently in whatever DAW you choose.
